Jesus had to die to be glorified. People were converted in the Gospels but regenerated in Acts. BIBLE SALVATION TO THE JEWS (Acts 2:38-39) 38.Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39.For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. RESULTS (Acts 2:41-42) 3,000 (Jews) were baptized and continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine. BIBLE SALVATION TO THE SAMARITANS (Acts 8) You are not saved by just believing...conversion coupled with regeneration...Man's part and God's part. CONVERSION (Acts 8:12)Man's part-But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ (obedience) they were baptized. both men and women. REGENERATION (Acts 8:17) God's part-then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. BIBLE SALVATION TO THE GENTILES (Acts10:43-48) Peter activates the keys. 43.To him give all the prophets witness, that trough his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. 44.While Peter yet spake these words the Holy Ghost fell on them which heard the word. 45.And THEY OF THE CIRCUMCISION which believed were astonished as many as came with Peter, because that on the GENTILES ALSO was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46.For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then answered Peter... 47.Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48.And he COMMANDED THEM TO BE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD. PRINCIPLES OF GRACE.....Faith unto Obedience BELIEVERS WITHOUT BIBLE SALVATION (Acts 19) Approx. 17yrs. later...again we see the priciples of Grace...Faith unto Obedience...they heard, they saw, they were immediately obedient, and were REBAPTIZED IN JESUS NAME. 1.And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus; and finding certain disciples, 2.He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? MAN'S DOCTRINE-After 200 years of CHURCH PERSECUTION (30 A.D.- 300 A.D.), Constantine formed the UNIVERSAL (Catholic) Roman Church. This is when MAN started taking GOD'S doctrine out of the Church and replacing it with man made doctrine to gain control. GOVERNMENT AND RELIGION JOINED....for 1200 years fundamental doctrine .....BIBLE.......... It was prophesied in the Old Testament that everything would be restored. The Devil had no choice but to release all elements of Bible Salvation. He held out THE NAME OF JESUS to the very last. REFORMATION OF DENOMINAL CHURCHES 1500-1800 A.D. LUTHERAN-Confessional boxes removed and replaced with CONFESSION TO GOD. Baptism-sprinkled infants (Catholic mode) in the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost PRESBYTERIAN-John Knox-Reconstructed church government by electing presbyters and performed communion as a memorial instead of transubstantiation. Baptism-sprinkled infants in titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. BAPTIST-John Smyth-No infants were baptized in the Bible. He baptized BELIEVERS by immersion; but in the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. METHODIST-John Wesley-Holy Ghost put back in the church with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Baptism-(Trinitarian formula)-Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. NON DENOMINAL CHURCHES- 1900 A.D. For precept must be upon precept, line upon line, here a little, there a little (Isaiah 28:10) Finney, Spurgeon, Moody etc., these newly formed Trinity Pentecostal organizations attempted to use the whole Bible instead of structured Articles of Faith. They wanted to be FREE. Many new groups were formed and many merged together. Seven Day Adventist, Church of God, and Assemblies of God etc. preached repentance to God. They baptized believers by immersion in the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and many received the Holy Ghost. HOLY GHOST SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS 1914 Preaching to a large crowd at a yearly Pentecostal convention a Rev. McCalister, anointed and led by the Holy Ghost, reinstated Biblical Baptism IN THE NAME OF JESUS. The BIBLE FORMULA for Baptism (God's formula)- because of your confession of Faith, your Act of Repentance, and your desire to be Baptized by immersion in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST for the remission and removal of your sins.
